Shoes are the integral part of fashion from long times and always enhances the personality of the individual. One such type of shoe is a saddle shoe. It got such a name due to the vamp and instep of the shoe, taking the shape of the saddle in the center. These are formal leather footwear, usually having a combination of black and white. Combinations of other colors are also available. Shoes with black and white combination have black leather on the middle part vamp, instep, throat, eyelets and tongue and white on the toe and the back. A complementary black strip ran on the back of the heel in the rear of the shoe. Some of them have a buckle on top of the black strip. The sole is made up of composite low heeled sole which usually coral in color.            

The saddle shoes for men were very much popular in the post-war era when men would jive, dance jitterbug and listen to the vinyl album of "The King". Many famous icons like Elvis Presley and James dean adorned these “old school” men’s saddle shoes (the old name).  It was first introduced in 1906. The manufacturers have produced saddle shoes in every color combination and designs possible.
           
The demand for saddle shoes has never gone down and now they are used to serve the different needs of the people. They can be used as shoes for the athletes (athletic men’s saddle shoes), golfers (golf saddle shoes) and also oxford saddle shoes are used by the executives for casual wear. Nowadays, waterproof type of saddles shoes for men are also available.
